We spoke to Susan at Mayo today, she's the liver transplant coordinator's assistant. She told us as of yesterday's labs (July 15) Dan's MELD is 30 and she expects it to be even higher by Friday's labs, we're not sure why. For a sick guy, she said his other labs look good and the doctors have decided NOT to schedule the appointment on Monday July 21. She said they discuss Dan at their Wednesday team meetings, he's the first one they talk about, he is #1 on the hospital waiting list, and they don't expect to need to see him for an appointment for 3 months unless something extreme happens like a high fever, bleeding, stuff like that. As Susan told Dan, they don't expect to see him again until (not if, but until) transplant. They still talk like it could be any time now. And they may add one more day a week to come in for labs, we'll find out on Friday, that would make 3 days a week for labs.
So we keep waiting, hopefully not much longer. Thanks, Tracy Turner, for your last comment on Debbie's blog that reminded us to "keep looking up." What a wonderful reminder for all of us.

Hi, I'm Michelle Wiginton, Pastor Travis and La Moyne's daughter-in-law and I wanted to send you encouragement and let you know that you are being lifted up by somone who knows who to pray for transplants. Blake, my nephew, received a small intestine, liver and pancreas transplant eight days after he was put on the list. There were many "God things' in even their ability to get to Omaha Transplant Hospitall in eight hours...God is amazing. But He also has a plan...Dan will learn from Him and this situation, as will everyone associated with him and his family. Don't pity Dan, watch in great wonder to see what God will do next in his life...the Lord save folks for a reason. I'm looking ahead to see what ministry needs him. God bless you all...remember, its not a miracle if just anyone could do it. God steps in when all other avenues have been deadends. I prayer for God's peace, his guidance and insructions. He can do all things, in His mannaer, in His timing and He knows more than we could ever could, which is why we need to humble ourselve before they great father and spend time with him. God is faithful to talk to us if we ask and then are quiet so that He can have His time...just a suggestion. I know it can get stressful, but find your quiet place and God will meet you there.
continuing to lift you up and hope that the timing is right very soon. know that folks at my church here in seattle, st. paul's united church of christ, are sending their thoughts about you skyward as well. much aloha from the pacific northwest -- cindy O.
Reading a great book on Ecclesiastes...want to share a small piece that was a reminder to me and hopefully an encouragement to you to rest in the blessings of today....the writer said "So today, while everything is OK, go get a double dip of Rock Road ice cream (or whatever flavor you favor)in a waffle cone. Take some friends with you, lick your ice cream slowly, and just enjoy being together." May Jesus be the lifter of your head...we continue to pray....Joy and Roger
Hey Debbie....Happy birthday...we loe you....Joy and Roger
happy belated bday, Debbie!
aloha, leah goslen
